Verification, garbage collection and retention: our default settings

Applied to every datastore when it is created. For verification and garbage collection, these are the defaults suggested by the PBS interface, and we keep them. PBS has no default retention (it keeps everything): this one is ours.

You connect your Proxmox VE to our dedicated PBS datastore and everything else — monitoring, updates, integrity checks — is managed by our team. You maintain full control of your backups from the Proxmox VE interface.

A hosted PBS provides the storage infrastructure. A managed PBS goes further: 24/7 monitoring, automatic updates, scheduled integrity verification, proactive alerts, and included technical support. At NimbusBackup, all our plans are managed — you don't have to manage anything on the PBS side.

Yes, NimbusBackup is compatible with Proxmox VE 7.x, 8.x and 9.x. The PBS protocol is native — simply add our remote datastore in your Proxmox VE interface, no agent to install. The offsite Proxmox backup works natively.
