Tuxis lists PBS Tape on their website as "coming soon" with no announced availability date. When it does launch, tapes will be stored in a fireproof safe inside the datacenter.
Nimbus goes further: the Magnetic Bank plan stores tapes in an off-datacenter bank vault, providing a true physical air gap. This is the difference between fire protection and complete site isolation.

Data location
Nimbus places its backup servers in its own racks at the Equinix Paris datacenter, on its own autonomous network AS206014, or on servers rented from major French or European hosting companies (such as OVH); no transfer outside the EU by default. For servers hosted in-house, peering with major networks via France-IX, Hopus, DE-CIX, AMS-IX and LINX ensures optimal latency for French and European clients.
Tuxis operates in the Netherlands (Ede, Amsterdam) and Germany (Dusseldorf). As an AMS-IX member, Tuxis is well-connected in Northern Europe.
Both providers operate within the EU and GDPR framework. But for French companies with data localization requirements in France — whether regulatory, contractual, or policy-driven — location is an objective criterion. At Nimbus, servers are in its own Equinix Paris racks or rented from French or European hosting companies: a France location requirement is guaranteed in the quote.
Nimbus's own AS (AS206014) adds another layer: routing control. For servers hosted in-house, your backup traffic doesn't traverse a third-party hosting provider's network.
